In the face of a public health emergency, being a “Minister of Word and Sacrament” (the official nomenclature for what I do as a pastor) is complicated. How does one preach the Word to an empty sanctuary? How does one provide the sacraments, especially Holy Communion – the very body and blood of Christ when we can’t gather for the meal?
