  1. Two parts of the article really spoke to me.

“#1 …Our parable is less about forgiving and more about counting, and making sure everyone counts. Whom have we lost? If we don’t count, it may be too late.”
Talk about a subject that hits home right now – especially when ‘discerning’ the role of the church .

And “#3…They also discovered a prompt for people with resources: Attend to those who do not have jobs, and make sure everyone has what is needed…..”
In Israel, men help a new husband start his own business, so that the husband can provide for his family. Even in Iowa, my great-grandfather gave his struggling son-in-law enough land to build a home and raise food.
NO where do we find it’s the government’s job or we pay the government to do so. The parable is directed to US – ‘those who have resources’ – and NOT just to the top few %. Also notice the word “resources” and not the word “money”. Time, talent, teach, networking — those are ALL resources. WE (believers) are to share them to help those obtain a job.
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.. – Maimonides”

    GREAT READ!
